Oxted Rhinos is a passionate, community-driven basketball club rooted in the heart of Oxted, Surrey. We were founded with a simple idea: bring local basketball lovers together to play, compete, and grow—on and off the court.
HOW IT STARTED
In the wake of the COVID-19 lockdowns, three friends—Julien, Alex, and Junior—began meeting at Mill Lane Recreation Ground in Hurst Green for casual pickup games. What started as a handful of players quickly grew into a thriving group of 30+ athletes in just six months. The momentum inspired us to form a club that could represent Oxted at a competitive level.
WHAT WE DO
We offer a place for experienced players to train, improve, and compete. Our team trains twice a week—on Monday and Thursday evenings—fostering a positive, competitive atmosphere built on respect, teamwork, and hard work.
Our next big goal? Inspiring the next generation. We’re preparing to launch a youth development program across East Surrey. This initiative will introduce young athletes to basketball in a supportive and fun environment, with quality coaching and structured sessions.
