Introducing Our New Development Program for the Next Generation of Ballers
One of our proudest upcoming projects at Oxted Rhinos is something that’s been a long time in the making: a Youth Basketball Development Program designed to give young people across East Surrey a chance to fall in love with the game.
We know the impact basketball can have—not just physically, but mentally, emotionally, and socially. That’s why we’re creating a structured, supportive, and inclusive environment where children and teens can build skills, make friends, and develop confidence through sport.
What to Expect from the Program:
- Age-appropriate training groups led by experienced players and coaches
- A focus on fundamentals, including shooting, passing, dribbling, defense, and teamwork
- Fun, engaging drills and scrimmages to build technique and game IQ
- Guest sessions from senior team members and possible appearances from league-level players
- Opportunities to grow into competitive youth teams representing Oxted Rhinos
Whether your child is already a basketball fan or brand new to the sport, this program is designed to nurture talent and instill a lifelong passion for the game.
Why It Matters:
East Surrey has no shortage of talented, energetic young people—but local access to high-quality basketball programs has often been limited. We’re stepping in to fill that gap.
More than just a training ground, the Oxted Rhinos Youth Program aims to become a community hub—a place where kids can thrive, parents can get involved, and basketball can bring people together.
We’re currently finalizing details, schedules, and registration. If you’re a parent, coach, sponsor, or volunteer who wants to help us build this next chapter, we’d love to hear from you.
Together, let’s shape the future of basketball in our community—one young Rhino at a time.
